Tracie Johnson, Executive Director

Tracie is a native of Highlands and a graduate of Baytown’s Ross S. Sterling High School. She earned an associate’s degree from Lee College (1984) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Teaching (emphasis in physical ed.) from Sam Houston State University (1986). Tracie continued her education by earning a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Texas Southern University (1990).

For the past 19 years, Tracie has directed the Lee College Women’s Volleyball Program and sports a career win-loss record of 522-247 (.679%). Her teams have won six conference, region and district championships and made six trips to the NJCAA national tournament (three Final Four appearances). She has earned six District Coach of the Year awards and one AVCA Regional Coach of the Year Award. Finally, Tracie has had the opportunity to coach numerous NJCAA All-Americans while at Lee College, with several of her players finishing the season as the nation’s top statistical leader in kills, hitting efficiency or assists. David Johnson, Treasurer
David graduated from Sam Houston State University with a B.S. Degree in Law Enforcement and Police Science. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Sam Houston State. David has been employed with the TDCJ- Parole Division for twenty-one years and is currently an Assistant Regional Director supervising and overseeing geographical districts in Harris and surrounding counties. David has collected and compiled statistics for the Lee College Women’s Volleyball Team for 19 years. David can be contacted at traciejohnson@texaseastsidevb.com.
Sharlene Barnett, Secretary

Sharlene graduated from the University of Houston in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in Reading, Math and Physical Education. Sharlene is in her second year of coaching and teaching at Barbers Hill High School after coaching at Cedar Bayou JH (Goose Creek) the previous five years.  At Cedar Bayou, she coached volleyball, track and basketball and her teams won district championships in 2002 (track) and 2003-04 (basketball). Prior to coaching at CBJH, Sharlene taught for four years at Carver Elementary. She is married to Lance and has two daughters, Taylor and Paige. Taylor and Paige both currently compete with Texas Eastside 15 Black and Texas Eastside 12 Black, respectively.  Sharlene can be reached at sbarnett@bhisd.net.

Traci George
Traci is a graduate from Henderson State University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. She minored in Special Education and currently coaches and teaches in the Barbers Hill Independent School District. Traci played collegiate volleyball at Lee College and Henderson State University, being named to numerous all-tournament teams and receiving all-conference and all-region honors at both institutions. Regarding her other coaching experiences, Traci has coached club, served as graduate assistant at HSU, and served as the assistant coach at Lee College. Traci is the Director of Coaches for Texas Eastside and makes all decisions affecting the coaching staff, to include the interviewing and hiring of the coaches.
